 Ninja Tactics

Ok, so I was playing Vyndir, my 15 Shadow Warrior along with Winin's not-so-well-lit-fighter in T2 Empire vs Chaos. There were 2 full warbands of Order having it out with 2-3 warbands of Destro. After much fighting and back-and-forth, Destro finally claimed Stone Troll Keep on the east side of the zone. We rallied at the keep mostly while 2 groups locked down the BO's back so they couldnt be taken for the usual timer.

Well, that worked fine and all, but the poor guys got steamrolled at the BO's. We finished rallying at Mandred's Hold, holding them off the doors for a good while and slowly pushing them back. More and more people were coming out of the keep to enjoy the fight. Destro would make a push, we all hole up inside and repeat.

This goes on for a little bit and finally we push em back entirely. That felt real good being outnumbered and all. Wait! They took back the BO's during that business!

This goes on and on for a little while longer, Winin's not-so-well-lit-fighter tires out and camps for the night. I endure on to see where the fight takes us. We push the destro entirely out of the zone and start taking back the BO's again. Destro having moved to another zone, it went perfectly. The Order warbands are rejoicing at the victory we just had.

Finally, we come to take Stone Troll Keep back. We start on the door and a measly 3 destro sprint into the keep. Two shamans and a Magus.

((**Wonder how they made it past all of us?....~shrug~**))

Anyway, we are working on the door, killing the poor 3 paltry defenders on the ramparts time and time again(they keep rezzing each other, after all).

((**Man they really suck at oiling the attackers...~shrug~**))

The door is getting ready to crack, so we stop guarding the postern and gather at the front door. It gets lower and lower as we knock it down. It's down to nothing! Open damn you! We squeeze together to ready ourselves the rush into the keep.

The doors finally open, flood gates more like it, and there, on the ground floor waiting with smiles and swords are the entire 3 full warbands of destro pouring out on top of us as if the Hoover Dam had been completely obliterated before us.

((**HOLY CRAP!!! SRSLY?! How did they get the entire 3 warbands to sit patiently without defending the keep?!?!**))

They had gathered all their forces while we were hitting the BO's and hid patiently in Stone Troll Keep on the bottom floor. They allowed us to assault the keep they were "defending" and simply sat in the bottom floor laughing their asses off most likely.

Stunned at the sight of 3 entire warbands of Destro hiding quietly inside the keep door, nobody noticed the sneaky little goblin that decided to pour oil on us at a perfectly timed moment when the door opened as well.

Needless to say we got completely wiped. The combination of the oil and sneaky tactics got us good.

I just have to say, I laughed for a good five minutes straight because goddamn you guys played well tonight. This is why I play a Realm vs Realm game. This is why I am into sieges. This was a tactic so silly, yet so effective I really hope someone Fraps'd it.

To anyone who happened to be playing destro in that zone tonight, hats off to you. I can honestly say, that was the best surprise attack I've seen yet in this game, and it is something I will remember for a long time.

That was a tactic I saw quite a few times when I was T2. It is a shock to the system to see a sea of red when that door falls. No one quite knows what to do when that happens. Me, I just step back and fire off some AoE to try and get as many kills as I can before I would ultimately fall (probably to a Gas Squig).

That just rocks -- shows that people listening to a good leader can really pull together. Hats off indeed Destro!

Ooooooh, I get it now.

I finally got my tactic that turns my on-the-run shot into a cone aoe. Time to spam the crowds and rake in some RPs!
